In 1998, Amy Bradley, a gifted swimmer from Longwood University, disappeared during a family cruise in the Caribbean. Nearly thirty years later, her brother Brad continues his relentless pursuit of answers.

Amy Lynn Bradley, a 23-year-old athlete from Petersburg, Virginia, earned a basketball scholarship at Longwood University, where she studied physical education.

In March 1998, Amy embarked on a family holiday aboard the Royal Caribbean cruise ship Rhapsody of the Seas, traveling to Curaçao with her parents, Ron and Iva Bradley, and her younger brother, Brad.

On the evening of March 23, Amy and Brad enjoyed the ship's nightlife, dancing and socializing with the band.

Around 1:00 a.m., Amy returned to the cabin, followed shortly by Brad. They shared conversation on the balcony, where Amy lingered to smoke.

By dawn, early March 24th, Brad noticed Amy on the balcony; yet, by sunrise, she had vanished without a trace. Her belongings—sandals, lighter, key—remained, but Amy was gone.

The family promptly alerted crew members, but assistance was delayed. The ship delayed announcing Amy's absence for hours, allowing many passengers to disembark before action began.

The Netherlands Antilles Coast Guard conducted a four-day search, followed by an FBI investigation that yielded no definitive leads.

The case resurfaced through a 2026 Netflix documentary, Amy Bradley Is Missing, reigniting hope for her family and captivating global audiences.

Despite nearly three decades, Amy's parents, Ron and Iva, and Brad refuse to abandon their quest.

Notably, Brad cherishes the memory of Amy's final words—"I love you"—as motivation to persist despite the passage of time. This enduring image fuels his determination.

Even now, Brad maintains hope Amy might still be alive, declaring, "We're never giving up."

He has even launched a dedicated website to aid her discovery, monitoring Caribbean visitor reports for clues. His resolve remains unshaken.

Various theories have arisen, including potential involvement in human trafficking.

Brad's own travels to Curaçao included investigating leads, such as a chilling instance where he believed he heard Amy's voice from a passing van—an empty promise.

Over time, multiple sightings have been reported across Curaçao and Barbados, though none confirmed. In April 1998, a Curaçao cab driver recalled Amy asking for a phone during docking. Later that year, a Canadian diver spotted a woman matching Amy's description on a beach with two men, but she was swiftly removed. In August 1998, a U.S. Navy officer claimed a woman in a Curaçao brothel identified as Amy, pleading for help before delaying disclosure. By 1999, a U.S. Navy officer reported a woman in a Curaçao brothel claiming identity as Amy, though hesitant to report earlier. In 2005, a Barbados restroom visitor bore Amy's likeness, with accompanying adult website images circulating, though unverified.

The family actively preserves Amy's legacy, appearing on programs like Unsolved Mysteries, America's Most Wanted, and Dr. Phil to share details and solicit tips.

Recently, the 2026 Netflix documentary Amy Bradley Is Missing, directed by Ari Mark and Phil Lott, has brought renewed focus.

The film features interviews with Brad, his parents, FBI personnel, and witnesses, expanding the narrative.
