James Dance, famously called “Dancey,” met with a sudden and devastating end following a serious mishap over the weekend.
Reports indicate that despite being rushed for emergency care, the talented rider succumbed to his injuries later on.
With over three decades of experience on two wheels, Dancey began his passion for motocross at just seven years old and quickly rose through the ranks to become a pioneering figure in natural terrain jumping competitions across Australia.
From competing in A-grade Motocross events to making his debut on the prestigious FMX Show in 1998, Dancey’s journey was nothing short of inspirational. He was among the trailblazers who shaped Australia’s FMX culture and dedicated over a decade to the sport before transitioning into carpentry to support his family.

He brought joy, laughter, and warmth to every moment he shared with us—he’ll forever be remembered as a remarkable individual and an extraordinary rider. Thank you to everyone who has sent their love and support,” wrote Maz, James’ mother, expressing her grief.
His legacy will endure through memories shared by countless fans and fellow athletes who continue to celebrate his life and achievements.
