Oromocto, New Brunswick, mourns the loss of Benjamin Eric Noseworthy, a cherished youth baseball and hockey coach who bravely fought Glioblastoma.

At 39, Ben left an enduring legacy of compassion, commitment, and joy that touched countless lives. His journey with cancer mirrored the strength he brought to every endeavor, leaving memories etched in the hearts of family, friends, and community.

His battle reflected the resilience he showed in all aspects of life, ensuring his spirit endures in those he inspired.

Born in December 1985 in Winnipeg, Manitoba, to Iris and Wayne Noseworthy, Ben grew up alongside his brother Philip.

The family relocated to Oromocto, where Ben built deep connections with the town he later served with passion.

Graduating high school in 2004 as class president, he showcased his leadership and ability to unite people.

He earned a Kinesiology degree from the University of New Brunswick in 2010, launching a career dedicated to wellness and community growth.

Ben’s professional path was defined by service. He managed CFB Gagetown's fitness center for nearly 12 years, supporting military personnel and locals alike.

As General Manager of the Gage Golf & Curling Club, he fostered an inclusive environment for members.

In his final roles, he served as Tourism and Communications Officer for Oromocto, promoting the community through events and outreach.

His work embodied his passion for connecting people and strengthening local bonds.

Ben poured his energy into coaching youth baseball and hockey, guiding young athletes with patience and wisdom as U7 Director of the Oromocto Minor Hockey Association.

He taught teamwork and perseverance, nurturing both skills and character in every player.

Generosity defined Ben; he volunteered freely and supported friends without hesitation.

Whether organizing gatherings or sharing laughter, he enriched Oromocto in countless ways.

Family stood at the core of his existence.

Married to Tara Noseworthy, they raised two sons, Cutler and Watson, who were his greatest pride.

Outdoors pursuits like hunting and fishing brought him joy, though Tara often playfully reminded him of his enthusiasm.

Yet nothing surpassed his role as a father, cherishing moments from adventures to quiet nights at home.

His warm, approachable nature turned strangers into lifelong friends, filling interactions with genuine warmth and humor.

Community Members Share Heartfelt Memories of Ben

Philip Noseworthy offered a moving tribute:

“Ben, our hearts are shattered as we say goodbye to you—my brother, my friend, and one of the most important people in my life. Life will never be the same without you. You were an incredible husband and father to Tara and the boys, and I promise to do everything I can to ensure they grow up knowing how much you loved them and how proud you were to be their dad. Your spirit will live on through them, and I know you’ll be watching over them every step of the way. Mom and Dad are heartbroken, but I know you’ll be their guardian angel, wrapping them in your love from above. Thank you for all the memories, laughter, and love you gave us. Rest easy now, Ben—we’ll take it from here. Until we meet again, we love you forever.”

Ryan Rohrback recalled:

“The world lost a great man, a mentor, and a role model. I’d always laugh when Ben texted me, ‘I need ya again,’ every time he tackled a home renovation involving electrical work. I was helping with his kitchen when he learned of his diagnosis, and it was hard to tell anything was wrong—he was still the same Ben. His strength was inspiring; he even called himself ‘Benny Armstrong.’ My heart aches for Cutler, Watson, and Tara.”

Jon Larsen reflected:

“Ben was one of the kindest people anyone could meet. No words can fully capture who he was or the impact he had. His priorities were clear—his family, his friends, and the Oromocto community. He will be deeply missed, but his warmth, generosity, and love will never be forgotten.”

Blair Kennedy remembered:

“Love ya, bud. Ben Noseworthy, I’ll never forget you and the laughs we shared. I’m so grateful and honored to have worked with you and become the friends we did over the years. What a time we had. Gone way too soon, bud. You were one of a kind. Rest easy.”

Ben is survived by Tara, sons Cutler and Watson, parents Iris and Wayne, brother Philip, and extended family carrying forward his legacy.

A celebration of Ben's life will occur on Thursday, October 9, 2026, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm.

Friends, family, and neighbors are invited to share stories and honor Ben's vibrant presence.
