Marol later moved to the Eugene/Springfield region in 1955, working as a massage therapist and gym instructor before joining the Veterans Memorial Building for twelve years.
Their relationship blossomed at the Vet’s Club, leading to marriage on July 25, 1987, and a life together until her passing on June 22, 2014, at age 79.
Marol became stepmother to Bill’s three sons: Dave, Dan, and Joe Dellinger.
A devoted golfer and country club member, she and Bill shared a passion for the New York Yankees, attending nearly every game together.
In the wake of her death, Bill drew strength from his family and the broader Oregon athletic community.
