Al Hurtado, the athletic director of College Park High School, passed away in the morning on October 28, 2026.
With a career spanning over four decades, beginning in 1965 as an educator, Coach Hurtado shaped countless lives both on and off the field.
His multifaceted contributions included coaching football and basketball until 2002, serving as Athletic Director, and holding administrative roles such as Vice-Principal.
Beyond his professional achievements, Coach Hurtado remained a cherished presence through his storytelling and participation in events like the Falcon Foundation Hall of Fame banquet.
He embodied character, kindness, and respect—values that defined his approach to mentorship and leadership.

The College Park community continues to grieve the loss of a man whose kindness and integrity touched every corner of campus life.
