Darnell Brooks Excelled as Concord University's Wide Receiver!

Originating from Charleston, West Virginia, Brooks emerged as a standout athlete through his dedication to both academics and athletics.

His journey began at George Washington High School before joining Concord's program in 2016. Over four seasons, he became integral to the Mountain Lions' offense, standing 6'2'' and weighing 190 pounds.

Wearing jersey #80 during his final collegiate year, he showcased skill and reliability on the field.

Off the field, Brooks' humility created an environment where others felt valued and supported.

The community mourns his unexpected departure, with his mother sharing heartfelt reflections online.

This weekend I lost the love of my life. My son was my world. It still doesn’t feel real. He embraced life fully, and my heart will always hold him close. Rest in peace. A celebration of his life will follow soon.

Coach added: "Darnell elevated everyone—his talent paired with his unwavering positivity made him irreplaceable."

Our deepest condolences extend to the Brooks family and all who knew him.
