Youth travel baseball has recently become embroiled in controversy, centering on the Texas-based TBE Rosales 9U squad.
A social media update from North Texas Select Baseball parent Cassidy Kraft Paprocki provoked intense discussion after claiming a coach or parent linked to the group threatened a cluster of 12-year-old females during a weekend event at Rocker B Ranch.
In her message, Paprocki labeled the squad as “one of the most unrefined” her kin had ever experienced.
She asserted that once defeats mounted, adults and mentors resorted to verbal abuse, labeling their offspring as “F***ing embarrassing.”
Tensions reportedly escalated when an individual, reportedly under the influence of alcohol throughout the day, confronted a group of young females near the pool.
Paprocki penned,
“In what universe is it acceptable to yell, scream, and intimidate 12-year-old girls?” If there’s an issue, address it privately with guardians, but adults should never resort to such conduct toward children. Everyone ought to feel embarrassed to have this person representing your organization.”
Several parents and attendees supported Paprocki’s perspective, sharing accounts of comparable occurrences or confirming rumors circulating at the venue.
An anonymous contributor noted,
“OG poster isn’t exaggerating. My child witnessed everything firsthand. Narratives match.”
Other supporters contested the narrative, defending TBE Rosales and implying the situation was overstated. Parent Lauryn Martinez highlighted praised the program, stating,
, “Newly enrolled in TBE, and it’s an exceptional institution. Their expected conduct and sportsmanship earns full marks—10/10. I’ve observed them managing opposing parents’ outbursts with calmness.”
Another advocate, Belinda Nino, addressed accusations directly. She clarified that the adult merely inquired about a child’s parents due to loud profanity, stating,
“Before posting misinformation online, verify facts thoroughly,”
Rocker B, a prominent travel baseball complex in Texas, permits alcohol consumption near fields—a factor many parents cite as problematic.
Commentator Matt Story questioned the appropriateness of alcohol near youth sports, asserting,
“Why permit alcohol near games? They’re incompatible,”
Yet some dismissed concerns, noting Rocker B generates significant revenue from beer sales yet rarely enforces prohibitions. An anonymous user added,
They no longer inspect coolers. Last weekend, a pool altercation occurred too.
While specifics of the interaction between TBE Rosales 9U families and observers at the pool remain contested, the episode highlights systemic issues in youth sports: adult intensity and behavior.
Commentator Payton Pennington critiqued the sport’s pressure, arguing,
“Travel baseball shouldn’t demand such seriousness. Ultimately, it’s a game. Parental and coaching overzealousness diminishes enjoyment. This obsession with rewards undermines the experience.”
