Charlotte, North Carolina, mourns the loss of a local hero—Elijah Roberts, who passed away unexpectedly in January 2026.

The circumstances surrounding his passing remain undisclosed as his family grieves privately.

Playing for West Orange High School's ice hockey team, number 10, Elijah began his journey in the 2012-2013 season with 3 goals and 4 assists. By his final year (2013-2014), he excelled with 11 goals and 15 assists, contributing to a total of 26 points across the season.

His career continued strong with 14 goals and 19 assists before graduation. Elijah pursued higher education at Mercyhurst University from 2014-2018, majoring in business marketing while serving as social media director for their women's Division I hockey program. He gained valuable industry experience through internships with the Erie SeaWolves and Erie Sports Commission.

Post-graduation, he worked at Kings Supermarkets before joining Townsquare Interactive in 2018. Starting as social media coordinator, he advanced to sales team lead and later became inside sales manager—a role he held for over five years until his passing. His dedication spanned nearly eight years with the company from May 2018 until his final days.
