The incident unfolded around 7:45 a.m. on October 8 along State Route 146 near mile marker 21.
Per Ohio State Highway Patrol reports, Sotherden was traveling westbound when his 2004 Dodge Ram 2500 crossed into the opposing lane.
His vehicle collided directly with an eastbound ODOT dump truck.
The truck operator, 45-year-old William Green from Philo, sustained minor injuries and required hospitalization. The wreckage caused both vehicles to veer off the roadway and flip multiple times.
Concurrently, **Sotherden was airlifted to Grant Hospital in Columbus** with life-threatening injuries.
