Lauren Turner, a 19-year-old sophomore and standout player on the Cal State Fullerton women's soccer team, tragically passed away on November 7, 2026, after spending nearly six weeks in intensive care following a devastating accident.
On the evening of September 27, Lauren and her teammate, Ashlyn Gwynn, were riding electric scooters near the California State University, Fullerton campus in Fullerton, California.
While traveling southbound on Association Road near Yorba Linda Boulevard, they were struck by a box truck.
The collision left both athletes with severe injuries; Lauren suffered critical head trauma and .
Despite extensive medical efforts, she succumbed to her injuries weeks later.
While Lauren tragically passed away on November 7, Ashlyn is still recovering in the hospital.

A rising star in collegiate soccer, Lauren was celebrated for her contributions during the historic 2026 season.
She participated in every game, starting four times and logging 881 minutes total.
