Leigh Weber Hart, a High Bridge, New Jersey resident and esteemed cheer coach, passed away on Tuesday, September 16, 2026, at the age of 46, leaving behind her husband Mike and three daughters.
The loss of Leigh Hart came following her prolonged and valiant struggle against colorectal cancer.
Leigh was diagnosed with stage IV Colorectal Cancer on June 4, 2026, at 42, and underwent a CRS with HIPEC procedure; unfortunately, her journey ended despite her relentless fight.
Her absence creates an irreplaceable gap in the lives of those closest to her.
Leigh's compassionate spirit and leadership left an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Leigh Hart led the cheer squad for the Hunterdon Huskies, a prominent travel football and cheer program, as a volunteer nonprofit organization based in High Bridge, NJ.
Hunterdon Huskies expressed their sorrow on social media, sharing:
“Our hearts are heavy as we remember Coach Leigh Hart, who passed away recently. Those who knew her will cherish her laughter and commitment to her daughters' cheerleading. We miss you, Coach Leigh. 💙🖤🤍.”
Leigh Hart dedicated over 25 years to New Jersey American Water
Beyond her coaching achievements, she captured hearts during her 25+ year tenure at New Jersey American Water.
Starting as a customer service representative and billing clerk in 2000, she quickly rose to become a training instructor.
Her roles expanded to include field resource coordination, system administration, and operations specialist before becoming a supervisor.
Promoted to Jr. Operations Supervisor in 2008, she advanced to Senior Operations Supervisor in 2010 and later served as Senior Superintendent of Operations until her passing.
From 2026 until her passing, Leigh Hart held the position of Senior Superintendent of Operations.
Born June 27, 1979, at Overlook Hospital in Summit, NJ, Leigh was the sole child of Mark Weber and the late Dale Weber, raised in Cranford, NJ.
She attended Cranford High School (1997) and earned her BA in Economics from Douglas College at Rutgers University (2002), followed by an MBA from Centenary University.
Leigh was cherished as a wife to Mike Hart and mother to daughters Dublin, Gia, and Ainsley—all accomplished cheerleaders who inherited her athletic passion.
She is also survived by her father Mark Weber and extended family members.
Leigh predeceased her mother Dale Weber and former husband Steven Perez.
honor Leigh’s memory with a service on Friday, September 19, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. at Scarponi-Bright Funeral Home, 26 Main Street, Lebanon, NJ. Private interment.
