Madi Wurster, a cherished Purdue Fort Wayne volleyball player, tragically passed away in a car accident on December 8, 2026, at age 25.

Her brother, Zach Wurster, conveyed the profound sorrow experienced by their family.

Madi graduated from South Adams High School in 2018, excelling in both volleyball and basketball. She brought out the best in every team.

Her passion for volleyball led her to Purdue University Fort Wayne, where she played for five seasons and served as team captain. Graduating in 2026 with dual majors and minors, she left a lasting academic impact.

She later embraced a meaningful role as School Program Coordinator at Erin’s House for Grieving Children in Fort Wayne—a calling that resonated deeply with her spirit.

Her gentle nature, boundless compassion, and empathetic heart made her an irreplaceable friend. She returned to coaching with the Gym Rats in Fort Wayne, sharing her love for the sport.

Madelyn “Madi” Brianne Wurster, daughter of Bradley Wurster and Toni Campbell, arrived on March 26, 2000, in Bluffton, Indiana.

Raised in a loving, close family with two brothers, Zachary and Nicholas, Madi grew up surrounded by warmth and support.

Madi’s life began with a miraculous arrival, reflecting the joy and hope she would bring to others. Her faith was central to her identity, and she found joy in worship at Pathway Community Church.

She cherished time with her family at First Missionary Church and delighted in being an aunt to her nephew, Wrigley.

Yesterday, I received devastating news. Losing Madi leaves a void no words can fill. She lived with purpose, love, and grace.

Madi’s kindness and wisdom touched everyone she met. She balanced strength with sensitivity, offering comfort when needed and laughter when desired.

Her reliance on faith helped her navigate life’s trials with courage and resilience.

For the Wurster family, this loss is immeasurable. Madi’s legacy lives on in every heart she touched.

Preceded by her grandparents Bobby L. Wurster and Ruth A. Campbell, Madi’s journey was brief but profoundly impactful.

Visitation will be held Thursday, December 11, 2026, from 1:00–7:00 p.m. at First Missionary Church. A funeral service follows Friday, December 12, 2026, at 11:00 a.m., with visitation from 10:00–11:00 a.m.

Pastors Rick Schwartz and Jim Schwartz will lead the service, with burial at M.R.E. Cemetery.

Attendees are encouraged to wear vibrant colors to honor her spirit.
