San Diego Padres baseman Manny Machado has roots in the Dominican Republic and has represented the Dominican Republic in International Baseball competitions.

Manuel Arturo Machado was born on July 6, 1992, in Miami, Florida, US, as the loving son of his father, Manuel Machado, and mother, Rosa Machado.

The baseball player was raised solely by his mother, Rosa, with the help of his grandfather and uncle.
