Julian, a 17-year-old football standout at Salinas High School, endured catastrophic injuries when struck by a fleeing vehicle on September 27, 2026.
While crossing Del Monte Avenue in Monterey, Julian was hit by a car whose operator fled the scene. The suspect, 44-year-old Emmanuel Juarez from Seaside, abandoned his vehicle and remains at large following a felony arrest warrant for causing injury through hit-and-run.
Julian sustained multiple critical injuries requiring immediate surgery, including a broken right tibia and fibula, fractured shoulder blade, sacral damage, concussion, and a dislocated sternoclavicular joint. He continues receiving specialized care at Natividad Trauma Center, facing significant recovery challenges including mobility limitations and substantial medical expenses.
