Find peace knowing Coach Stormy fought valiantly until her final days.

November 28, 2026 – The Lovell community mourns the loss of Stormy Nicole Smith Jameson, who passed away on November 23, 2026, after a courageous fight against Stage IV metastatic breast cancer.

Stormy, born September 16, 1986, in Paris, Texas, to Greg and Breanna Smith, was a dynamic force in both life and sport. Her journey from a standout student to a multi-sport scholarship athlete at Oklahoma Panhandle State University culminated in a fulfilling career as a coach, reporter, and creative talent for the Lovell Chronicle.

Married to Michael Jameson since 2009, Stormy built a family of four children—Kobi, Jace, Kali, and Jett—and nurtured a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering dedication. Her professional accolades included Class 2A West Coach of the Year (2012) and 3A West Coach of the Year (2015), yet her greatest pride lay in guiding young athletes and fostering community spirit.

Beyond the volleyball court, Stormy’s influence radiated through her role as a mother and friend. She transformed ordinary moments into cherished memories, whether coaching her children’s Little League teams or turning family game nights into legendary competitions. Her infectious laughter, gentle East Texas charm, and relentless competitiveness made her unforgettable.

When a routine back injury in October 2026 revealed advanced breast cancer, Stormy faced adversity with grace. Despite aggressive treatment and unimaginable pain, she remained a pillar of strength for her family and community. Friends and neighbors rallied to support her, organizing fundraisers and providing comfort during her final weeks.

Stormy passed away peacefully on a quiet Sunday morning, surrounded by loved ones. Her legacy endures in every life she touched—especially her four children, who carry forward her boundless energy and love. A memorial service will be held on November 28, 2026, at Lovell High School’s Johnny Winterholler Gym, with a viewing at Haskell Funeral Home and burial at Lovell Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to a scholarship fund supporting Stormy’s children. Rest easy, Coach. Your fight inspired us all.
