The Fort Pierce, Florida, community mourns the unexpected loss of cherished former professional athlete and coach, Terry Beauford.

At 57, Terry Beauford departed this world, leaving behind a legacy of dedication and service. Details surrounding his passing remain private at this time.

Originating from Fort Pierce, Terry's journey began at Fort Pierce Central High School, where he made significant strides in football.

He pursued higher education at Florida A&M University, earning a bachelor's degree in criminal justice with a minor in physical education in 1991.

As a standout football player at FAMU, Terry excelled as an offensive lineman during the Ken Riley era, earning multiple accolades including two-time SBN All-American honors and First Team All-MEAC selections.

His collegiate excellence led to his induction into the FAMU Hall of Fame in 2009.

Beauford entered the professional realm when drafted by the San Diego Chargers in the seventh round of the 1991 NFL Draft.

Over three NFL seasons, he represented San Diego (1991) and Green Bay (1992, 1993), followed by two years with Canada's Shreveport (La.) Pirates in the CFL (1994, 1995).

He later contributed to the Tampa Bay Storm of the AFL as an offensive guard from 1996-2000.

Beyond athletics, Terry devoted fifteen years to coaching, starting at Hampton University in 1997 as defensive tackles coach, guiding them to their inaugural MEAC championship.

He later served as Offensive Coordinator and assistant head coach at Lane College (1998-99), plus assistant athletic director roles. Returning to Hampton, he led the offensive line to numerous victories (2000-2004).

Subsequently, Terry became head coach at Morehouse College (2005-2006), later rejoining Hampton as Offensive Coordinator and line coach until 2011.

Post-coaching, he held positions as special assistant to the CEO and vice president of Athletic Program Development at Fort Pierce Athletic Academy.

Until his recent passing, Terry directed student life at Allen University.

His enduring impact on sports and compassionate spirit remain deeply honored. Family and friends express profound gratitude for his contributions, offering sincere condolences during this sorrowful period.

Terry Beauford is survived by his longtime wife, Yulonda Daren-Beauford, his daughter Tierra Briana Beauford, and the entire family.

Funeral arrangements will be shared by his family in due course.
