Young Baseball Star Noah Lara Passes Away in Tragic Drowning Incident

Wilmington Pony Baseball Player Noah Lara, 7, Died by Drowning Accident, Leaving Single Father and Siblings Shattered!

A 7-year-old baseball player from California, Noah Lara, passed away after a drowning accident on September 6, 2026.

Noah, a player with Wilmington Pony Baseball and part of the East Long Beach (ELB) Pony Baseball family, had drowned in a pool four weeks ago and was rushed to the ICU.

Despite doctors’ efforts, they found he had no brain function, though his organs continued to work.

Tragically, he passed away just two months after celebrating his 7th birthday in June 2026 and just a year after his mother’s passing in July 2026.

Noah Lara is survived by his single father, Ricardo Lara, and two siblings, Emma (13) and Rick (11). He outlived his mother by a year.

In a selfless act, Noah’s family chose to donate his heart and both lungs, saving the lives of three people.

A , organized by Genevieve Correa on behalf of Ricardo, has been established to alleviate the family’s financial burden.

Cypress Youth Baseball, Wilmington Pony Baseball, and ELB Pony Baseball have shared heartfelt messages. They’ve asked for prayers and donations to help with funeral costs and other expenses.

Wilmington Pony Baseball penned a tribute post, which reads:

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of one of our Wilmington Pony Baseball players, Noah Laura. Noah was not only a teammate, but also a friend, a son, and a bright light in our community. His smile, energy, and love for the game touched so many of us.

ELB Pony Baseball also held a candlelight ceremony at the Pinto field in Long Beach to honor Noah.

Likewise, to keep Noah’s memory alive, ELB is selling tribute dry-fit tees this fall ball season.

The tees will feature Noah’s number 33 and angel wings, with proceeds going to the Lara family.

During this difficult time, we pray for the strength of Noah’s father, siblings, friends, and extended family.
