11-Year-Old Kinsley’s Mental Harassment at Huntington Middle School Leads to a Suicide Attempt

An 11-year-old sixth grader at Huntington Middle School, Kinsley, has stepped forward to share her painful experience of mental harassment.

According to her mother, on September 24, 2026, the school called to report that Kinsley had attempted to take her own life.

She had even prepared a backup plan. When asked why, Kinsley told her family and care team that four classmates had subjected her to ongoing mental harassment — not mere bullying, but relentless, calculated psychological abuse.

For days, a group of four students targeted Kinsley with verbal attacks and written notes urging her to kill herself.

Between Friday and Tuesday, the children stuffed 32 such notes into her locker. They told her several times a day that the world would be better without her.

This constant barrage pushed Kinsley to the brink, despite her loving family and strong support system at home.

Kinsley’s mother took to social media to alert other parents, explaining the devastating impact of the harassment.

She asked for help identifying the parents of the four children involved, hoping they understood the damage their children had caused.

Because of this harassment, Kinsley spent six nights in a psychiatric ward, allowed only ten minutes of phone time a day, while her family tried to explain her absence to her younger sister and friends.

Despite their heartbreak, Kinsley’s family emphasized that telling a child to kill themselves “isn’t a joke” and “isn’t a game.”

Her mother shared that Kinsley does not want to press charges, even though her parents have encouraged her to, showing a level of compassion and maturity far beyond her years.

On October 2, 2026, Kinsley’s mother issued an update thanking the community for its overwhelming support.

She clarified that they had removed the names of the children involved from the original post after learning those students were receiving death threats.

“No child deserves to go to school scared,” she wrote, urging adults not to retaliate.

Kinsley does not want these children expelled or their lives ruined — she wants awareness of how damaging words can be and for the harassment to stop.

The Board of Education has since contacted the family. Kinsley, now home and recovering, hopes to start a local support group for kids facing similar struggles.

Her mother said this approach, backed by Kinsley’s psychiatrist, case manager, and therapist, validates her daughter’s feelings and allows her to reclaim her voice and agency.

Kinsley’s story reveals how mental harassment can devastate a child’s life even when they are loved and supported at home.

Her bravery in sharing her experience has already inspired countless others to be kinder and more aware of the power of their words.

Through her advocacy, Kinsley is transforming a tragedy into a message of hope and resilience for children everywhere.
