Zach Ertz, a tight end for the NFL’s Washington Commanders, and his wife Julie Beth Ertz, are celebrated not only for their athletic accomplishments but also for their journey as devoted parents.

Their romance began in 2012 when Zach, then a student at Stanford University, met Julie at a baseball game.

Following four years of courtship, Zach proposed to Julie at Klein Field—the very venue where their love story commenced—on February 2016.

The couple exchanged vows on March 26, 2017, under the sun-drenched skies of Santa Barbara, California, embarking on a marital journey that has now spanned eight joyful years and produced three cherished children.

In April 2026, Zach and Julie revealed their impending parenthood with a tender Instagram post featuring Zach affectionately kissing Julie’s baby bump, accompanied by a moving verse from Psalm 30:11-12.

“Adding to our starting lineup… Baby Ertz!”

Four months later, Julie welcomed their firstborn son, Madden Matthew Ertz, on August 11, 2026, marking the beginning of their expanding family.

On Madden’s third birthday, Julie shared joyful snapshots of Zach celebrating with their son, declaring, “Happy Birthday, Madden Boy! You are so so loved!! #3,”

The family expanded again when Zach and Julie became fathers to twin sons, Kace and Kyren, two years after Madden’s arrival.

On August 24, 2026, the Ertz household welcomed twin boys Kace and Kyren, announced via a heartfelt Instagram post featuring a monochrome image of the infants bundled together in coordinated attire.

“Welcome to the world Kace and Kyren! The Ertz boys #twinning,” the couple wrote, radiating pure happiness.

Their latest Instagram post captured the twins’ first birthday, celebrating their dual presence with playful words: “Holy Happy Birthday to the Twins! Kace and Kyren, you are double the love, fun, and laughter!”

Throughout these milestones, Zach and Julie consistently showcase their unwavering support for their sons, often appearing at every game to cheer them on as devoted fans.

Beyond parenting, the Ertz family champions philanthropy through their foundation, dedicated to empowering children via sports and educational opportunities.
