Celina ISD Faces Lawsuit Over Alleged Coverup of Coach’s Misconduct!
October 27, 2026
Families sue Celina ISD, alleging the district covered up coach Caleb Elliott’s misconduct, including illegally recording students, to protect its football legacy.
Three Moore Middle School families have filed a lawsuit against the Celina Independent School District (ISD), accusing the district of failing to safeguard students and attempting to conceal severe coach misconduct to maintain the school’s football reputation.
The lawsuit focuses on Caleb Elliott, a 26-year-old coach and son of Bill Elliott, the longtime head football coach and athletic director. Families claim Elliott recorded middle school boys in locker rooms and showers without consent, with police identifying over 30 potential victims.
Elliott faces charges for two incidents: first, illegally recording students, and second, possessing illegal images of minors. According to the lawsuit, school leaders, including Superintendent Tom Maglisceau and Bill Elliott, were aware of Elliott’s prior issues, including an inappropriate relationship with a male student.
Instead of termination, Elliott was transferred from Celina High School to Moore Middle School, enabling continued alleged harm to students.
A new Texas law, House Bill 4623, permits families to sue schools for failing to report or prevent abuse. Plaintiffs seek over $1 million to address emotional and physical trauma inflicted on their children.
Angry parents have demanded Maglisceau and Bill Elliott’s dismissal and investigations during school board meetings. One mother stated, “We cannot allow our children to suffer due to adult negligence.” Texas Representative Jeff Leach has urged the state Attorney General to examine the district’s conduct.
Meanwhile, both Bill Elliott and Allison Ginn, Moore Middle School’s principal, have been placed on administrative leave.
The lawsuit asserts district negligence caused lasting psychological impacts, leaving many students fearful of locker rooms and sports participation, requiring counseling support.
Families demand accountability and systemic changes to prevent recurrence. To date, Celina ISD has not issued public comments.
