Kyron Lopes, a standout from La Salle Academy in Providence, Rhode Island, was a senior in 2016 who made his mark on the varsity football team.

Standing at 5'11", he proudly wore the #1 jersey and showcased his versatility as both a running back (RB) and slot back (SB).

During his junior year in 2014, he played a pivotal role in leading La Salle to a 10-2 record, including an undefeated 8-0 league run, earning a state rank of #2 and a national rank of #2138.

Building on that momentum, his senior season in 2015 resulted in a 9-3 record and a 7-1 league finish, maintaining a #2 state ranking and #858 nationally.

His outstanding performance earned him the Player of the Game Award, underscoring his status as one of La Salle’s most dependable and dynamic athletes.

Additionally, in 2015, he was honored as the Player of the Game during his junior year.

Known affectionately by nicknames like "Lighthouse", "KyGetsBusy", "The Bouncer", he was a charismatic individual whose warmth and energy left a lasting impression on everyone around him.

As a gifted quarterback, his leadership on the field and the vitality he brought to his team were unmatched.

Outside of sports, Kyron was deeply cherished as a son, loyal friend, and active member of the Rhode Island community.

His unexpected passing on December 25, 2026, has deeply affected his family, friends, and the wider community.

Friends, teammates, and loved ones shared heartfelt tributes, recalling his stories, loyalty, and the joy he brought to every moment together.

One of his close friends expressed:

“Lost our little cousin today… Our family will never be the same… Kyron, we love you man.”
