Bryan Zapp passed away on November 27, 2026 after a brief yet valiant struggle against brain cancer.

His remarkable career spanned roles as an army detective, school police officer, and community guardian.

As a devoted father to his 10-year-old daughter Kyndal, a standout softball player for Cherokee Warriors, Bryan instilled pride and joy in her athletic pursuits from an early age.

His passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of his family and community.

Friends and loved ones share heartfelt memories of his unwavering strength and boundless love for Kyndal.

“Zapp embodied the spirit of a warrior—serving his country, community, and family with unmatched dedication. Even amidst his final battles, his love for Kyndal shone brightly. He was an extraordinary father, and our hearts ache with grief. Our thoughts are with you all.

“Every conversation with him centered on his daughter; his affection for her was evident in all he did. May his memory guide us, and may his family find comfort in knowing he will be deeply missed.

Bryan Zapp Served as School Police Officer at Freedom Middle School

As a dedicated school protector at Freedom Middle School, Bryan Zapp cherished his role among students, ensuring safety while fostering trust.

Assigned to elementary zones 3, including Ball Ground ES STEM Academy and Free Home ES, his legacy endures in every corner of the Cherokee County School District.

Before this, Bryan served as a Woodstock Police Department detective and U.S. Army Military Police officer for 19 years, embodying service in every facet of his life.

Cherokee County School District extends its deepest condolences to the Zapp family, honoring his memory as a pillar of strength and integrity.

“To his daughter, he was her entire world—a loving, guiding presence. To friends, a steadfast rock. To his country, a decorated veteran. To students, a protector. His absence leaves a gap no one can fill.
