Crissy Welch Scronce’s departure has created an irreplaceable void in the lives of her loved ones and the communities she so dearly supported.

Born November 27, 1969, in Gaston County, Crissy was raised by parents Steve Eugene Welch Sr. and Doris Treadaway Welch. From childhood, she embraced values of faith, family, and service, which became the cornerstone of her existence.

Her marriage to Michael Scronce was marked by mutual devotion; he often expressed gratitude for her presence as both partner and mother to their sons, Logan (Hannah) and Luke (Bailey). Crissy found equal joy in nurturing relationships with her twin sister Penny Vowell (Troy) and brothers Steve Welch Jr. (Jane) and Kelly Welch (Nancy). Extended family connections remained vital, ensuring her legacy would endure across generations.

Professionally, Crissy demonstrated exceptional dedication in roles spanning Dorco Manufacturing, the YMCA of Lincolnton, and the Lincoln County School System. Colleagues consistently praised her reliability, empathy, and ability to uplift teams through quiet leadership.

Beyond formal employment, her volunteer efforts transformed countless lives through involvement with schools, food pantries, faith-based initiatives, scouting programs, and civic organizations. These contributions reflected her core belief that true fulfillment comes from lifting others.

Friends and neighbors frequently highlighted her selflessness—always prioritizing others’ needs above her own. Haskle Good Jr. captured this sentiment perfectly, describing Crissy as a wife, mother, sister, and friend whose absence leaves an unfillable gap. Michael Scronce expressed profound gratitude for community support during this difficult period, while Nancy Welch emphasized maintaining hope through faith amidst seasonal sorrow.

Community members like Ryan Bartone recall Crissy as uniquely genuine—a person whose authenticity brought light wherever she went. A memorial service honoring her life will occur Monday, December 29, 2026, at Crowell Memorial Church in Lincolnton, with Pastor Butch Ross and Eric Kelly presiding. The family invites guests to gather Sunday, December 28, 2026, at Warlick Funeral Home from 4:00–6:00 p.m.

To honor Crissy’s memory, donations may be directed to Crowell Memorial Church’s Building Fund at 4018 Killian Road, Lincolnton, NC 28092. Her enduring influence continues inspiring those fortunate enough to know her story.
