Honoring Earl Bruce Klyn: A Remarkable Life of Dedication and Love
Earl Bruce Klyn, a cherished member of the Blakesburg community, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and achievement. Colleagues and friends recall his exceptional intellect and warm-hearted nature with deep affection.
Born on November 26, 1946, Bruce attended Baxter High School before pursuing higher education at Ellsworth Community College and earning a biology degree from William Penn University. His professional journey included roles at Monsanto Chemical and the founding of Roemerman Feed and Grain, which expanded across several towns.
Beyond his business ventures, Bruce was deeply rooted in agriculture, managing Klyn Farms with expertise and passion. His personal life was enriched by his love for family, dogs named Dexter and Rascal, and activities like cribbage and golf.
He married Janyce Kline in 1966, with whom he shared a lasting bond marked by mutual respect and affection. Their union produced children including Eric (Jenny) Klyn and Kristen (Rob) Walker, along with grandchildren who cherished his guidance and presence at sporting events.
Bruce’s life was also shaped by his siblings, notably Wayne Klyn, and his enduring relationship with his parents, Earl Henry and Neva Louise Klyn. His passing is mourned by many who benefited from his generosity and unwavering commitment to those around him.
Community members share heartfelt memories of Bruce as a devoted father, grandfather, and friend. One friend described him as endlessly fascinating and supportive, while another highlighted his profound impact on their family’s life. His legacy continues through memorials supporting local youth sports initiatives.
Bruce’s final days were spent surrounded by loved ones, with a visitation scheduled for January 19, 2026, at Sinnott Funeral Home in Albia. The funeral service will follow on January 20, offering the community an opportunity to celebrate his remarkable life.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to youth sports programs that reflect Bruce’s lifelong dedication to nurturing young talent. Our deepest sympathies extend to the Klyn family during this difficult period.
Rest in Peace, Bruce.
