A devastating incident unfolded on October 26, 2026, when 15-year-old Jax Zarn tragically lost his life in a severe collision.His passing has deeply affected his family, including parents Derek and Elizabeth Zarn, and three siblings.
Elizabeth Zarn has shared that the family is grappling with profound sorrow, highlighted by personal tributes on social media.
The accident occurred early Sunday morning near Stacy Trail and Ivywood Trail in Chisago City, Minnesota. Jax was traveling in a 2014 Toyota Camry with a 14-year-old driver, accompanied by another 15-year-old passenger. Their vehicle collided head-on with a 2000 Toyota 4Runner driven by a 17-year-old, Jon, who also did not survive.
Emergency responders worked tirelessly, transporting the surviving teens to hospitals—one by helicopter due to critical condition, while the 14-year-old driver faced severe injuries.
Authorities discovered alcohol at the scene and are investigating its potential role in the crash.
Community support emerged through initiatives like Ashley Alvarez’s fundraiser, which has raised $6,935 toward a $15,000 goal to aid the family.
The Chisago Lakes Hockey Association expressed collective grief, urging fans to honor Jax by lighting candles tonight. The team’s Chelsea Lynn Williams shared a heartfelt plea for meals and gift cards to ease the family’s burden.
