Latwon Oscar Uribe, a talented freshman at Palmview High School, tragically lost his life in a late-night traffic accident on September 6, 2026.

The collision occurred around 10:28 p.m. at the busy intersection of La Homa Road and 66th Street.

Per Texas Department of Public Safety records, a 2026 Toyota Tacoma traveling west on 66th Street disregarded a stop sign.

Colliding head-on with Latwon’s 2006 GMC Envoy traveling north on La Homa Road, the impact sent both vehicles spinning. One vehicle struck a fence and utility pole before flipping onto its roof in the opposite lane.

Emergency responders confirmed Latwon sustained critical injuries at the scene and did not survive.

The Tacoma’s driver underwent evaluation at DHR Health in Edinburg, with authorities continuing investigations into the cause.
