North Ridgeville remembers Regenia Comerford (née Hill), 84, who departed peacefully on September 17, 2026, at The Avenue in North Ridgeville.

Originally from Spring City, Tennessee, Regenia established her roots in North Ridgeville in 1964, dedicating over sixty years to nurturing her family, church, and neighbors through unwavering commitment.

In her professional capacity as a cashier at Pick-N-Pay and IGA, she became a familiar presence cherished by local residents.

Beyond her workplace contributions, she held significant roles including member and former chairperson of the Deacons Board at First Congregational United Church of Christ.

Her leadership as moderator amplified the church’s outreach efforts, while her volunteer spirit fueled numerous community initiatives.

She directed North Ridgeville Community Care, organized the St. Peter Chicken BBQ and Christmas Craft Show, and served as past president of both the St. Peter PTU and North Ridgeville Arts Council.

Regenia also inspired youth through coaching North Ridgeville City Baseball, earning the "Mr. Baseball Award," and later mentoring CYO basketball teams in the 1970s.

Her profound impact extended to her family, leaving behind her husband of 61 years, William, daughters Lisa Armaro, Lynn Maiers, and Lori Comerford, alongside grandchildren, great-grandchildren, siblings, and nieces and nephews.

Survived by loved ones, she was preceded in death by parents, siblings, in-laws, son-in-law, and grandson—whose collective memories now enrich her family’s enduring legacy.

Neighbors fondly recall Regenia’s consistent kindness, exemplified when she braved the rain to return a misdelivered package to its rightful owner.

"She possessed a generous spirit. Being blessed to have her and Bill nearby for decades means everything," shared longtime neighbor Gin Lou Foy, offering heartfelt condolences.

Public visitation will occur Monday, September 22, 2026, from 5–8 PM at Bogner Family Funeral Home, with funeral services scheduled Tuesday, September 23, 2026, at 11 AM at First Congregational United Church of Christ under Pastor Kearstin Bailey’s guidance.

Interment follows at St. Peter Cemetery, ensuring her memory endures through the lives she transformed.

Regenia’s absence creates an irreplaceable void, yet her legacy of compassion, leadership, and service continues to illuminate North Ridgeville’s path forward.
