Chad Leavitt, a cherished resident of Lethbridge, Alberta, passed away unexpectedly on September 16, 2026, at the age of 52. He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion to his family.
His brother, Kasz Leavitt, announced the heartbreaking news on social media, sharing both the obituary and memories of Chad's kindness. The Leavitt family describes him as a devoted husband, father, and brother, surrounded by deep affection.
Chad is survived by his wife, Shannon Leavitt (née Bateman), their children, grandchildren, and siblings. Though predeceased by his mother, Coralee, and siblings Randi and Kyle, his memory lives on through his loved ones.
Active in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Chad embodied faith through his actions, teaching others with both words and deeds. His commitment to service was unwavering.
As the eldest of five siblings, born Chadney Bruce Leavitt on April 14, 1975, in Cardston, Alberta, Chad grew up in a close-knit family. His siblings include Tyler, Kasz, Randi, and Kyle—though Randi and Kyle have since passed, leaving a lasting impact on his life.
Though he spent much of his life traveling for work, Chad remained rooted in his love for family. He found joy in outdoor activities and cherished moments with those closest to him. His gentle humor and loyalty made him a beloved figure.
"He was a kind, stalwart brother, friend, and leader," remembered loved ones. "Chad loved camping, fishing, and hunting, finding peace in nature’s quiet beauty." Though his life was brief, his spirit endures in every story shared.
From his family, Chad leaves behind four children: Kelci (Cody) Green, Jaidyn (Justin) Schneyder, Parker, and Brookelyn. The couple also welcomes two grandchildren, with more expected soon. Shannon calls him "Papa," their greatest joy.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, September 22, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Lethbridge Stake Centre. Visits are scheduled for Sunday, September 21, 2026, from 6:30–8:00 p.m., and Monday morning before the service.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites tributes at their floral store or planting a tree in memory of Chadney Bruce Leavitt.
He Was a Married Man With Four Children
Shannon (Bateman) Leavitt and Chad shared a life filled with laughter and love. Their children—Kelci, Jaidyn, Parker, and Brookelyn—are the heart of their world. Two grandchildren join the family, with more on the way.
