Ronnie Singleton III, a recent high school graduate, met a tragic end on June 30, 2026, while attempting to retrieve a basketball from a pond at Wendtwoods Park in The Woodlands, Texas.

While playing basketball with his brother, friends, and coworkers, the ball rolled into the pond. Ronnie, unable to swim, went underwater and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Ronnie Singleton III Was a Dedicated Basketball Player!

His passion for basketball was evident through his involvement with the Houston Knights and CME Elite teams, showcasing his skills and dedication to the sport.

After graduating from Klein High School, Ronnie remained actively engaged in both academics and athletics, balancing school two days a week with part-time work as an assistant manager at Shoe Palace.

Just shy of completing his education, Ronnie was on track to obtain his real estate license when his life was unexpectedly cut short.

His mother, Rachelle Singleton, expressed the profound grief of losing her son, describing him as the family's anchor—driven, passionate, and the heart of their household.

Former coach Nyesha Phillips fondly recalled Ronnie's contributions to her club team and his unwavering positivity, noting his role as a supportive teammate and hard worker.

The Klein ISD community shared in mourning the loss of a promising young man, offering heartfelt condolences to his loved ones.
