Santee law enforcement dismissed employment following accusations of brandishing a weapon toward an individual amidst a football match disagreement.

Local resident Everett Alan Culpepper, aged 55 from Bowman, reportedly exhibited his unloaded sidearm in a confrontational context during a Northwoods Academy contest on Friday, per Santee Police Chief Kevin Borghi's statement.

At one juncture, Officer Culpepper purportedly brandished his personal weapon in an intimidating fashion during verbal exchange with officials,” Borghi stated.

Goose Creek law enforcement initiated response procedures and submitted documentation to judicial authorities.

Judicial authorities issued an arrest warrant for Culpepper. Approximately 2 p.m. Sunday, he voluntarily surrendered to county officials.

The Santee Municipal Police Force promptly revoked his position on October 19, 2026, at 9:30 a.m.

The Town of Santee Police Force treats such claims with utmost gravity and assures community safety through immediate resolution,” Borghi explained.

Additionally, Borghi notified South Carolina Criminal Justice Academy regarding possible professional misconduct allegations.

Leadership reiterated departmental standards requiring exemplary conduct, stating "such actions will face severe consequences."

His tenure with Santee Police spanned roughly two years.

Potential criminal penalties include maximum five-year imprisonment for weapon-related felonies.
