On Saturday, Nov. 23, a three-vehicle crash north of Spokane on U.S. Highway 395 left two teenagers injured, including 17-year-old Brody ThreeStars, who sustained serious head injuries.
Authorities say a suspected intoxicated driver, Matthew Hall, 45, of Deer Park, caused the collision while attempting to flee the scene.
The crash occurred around 6:40 p.m. Hall was driving a 1998 Honda Accord north on Highway 395, approximately nine miles from Spokane.
Behind him, 26-year-old Brooke Goins operated a 2004 Dodge Ram carrying 26-year-old Abigail Goins and an 18-month-old child as passengers.
At the right turn for West Russell Lane, 17-year-old Zachary Wolverton behind the wheel of a 2017 Subaru Legacy with Brody ThreeStars as passenger failed to stop at the intersection.
Hall lost control of his vehicle, drove through a ditch, and collided with the Subaru.
The impact forced the Subaru into the Goins pickup, causing all three vehicles to veer into the northbound ditch.
Both teenagers in the Subaru sustained injuries and were transported to Sacred Heart Medical Center.
Hall attempted to flee on foot but was later apprehended and taken to Deaconess North.
Charges for suspected DUI remain pending. Investigators continue assessing the collision's root causes.
Brody ThreeStars is recognized for his energetic spirit, unwavering dedication, and competitive nature both athletically and personally.
Family members describe him as a cherished son, brother, nephew, teammate, and grandson.
Post-accident, Brody underwent induced coma treatment for severe cranial trauma yet shows stable progress under intensive medical supervision.
The adolescent faces extensive rehabilitation ahead, with loved ones expressing profound appreciation for community solidarity, spiritual support, and practical aid during this ordeal.
His family requests continued prayers and goodwill as he navigates recovery challenges.
