Brentwood High School Student-Athlete Chethan Babu, 15, Passed Away, Leaving Behind His Parents, Ashok and Nicole!

Rising baseball talent Chethan Babu tragically passed away on September 14, 2026, following a motorcycle accident, at the age of 15.
He was riding an electric motorcycle along the sidewalk near Old Hickory Boulevard and High Lea Road in Nashville.
As per the Witnesses, he was traveling at speeds between 40 and 50 mph. Just then, he lost control and was thrown from the vehicle, striking a fire hydrant.
Without delay, Chethan was rushed to Vanderbilt Children's Hospital, but sadly, he passed away.
Metro Nashville Police cited reckless driving and inexperience as factors in the tragic crash.
Chethan Babu Was An Emerging Baseball Talent!
Chethan Babu was a promising athlete whose career was just beginning to flourish.
A member of the Class of 2028 at Brentwood High School in Tennessee, he actively participated in both baseball and cycling.
In baseball, he played as a catcher for the Redbirds Baseball Club and was recognized for his right-handed batting and throwing skills.
At just 15 years old, he had already gained attention from coaches and recruiters.
Additionally, he competed in the Tennessee Interscholastic Cycling League, participating in the 8th Grade A division.
His consistent performance earned him 31st and 37th place in two distinct events, highlighting his dedication and hard work.
Following his passing, students, teachers, and staff at Brentwood High School have united to honor his memory.
expressed a heartfelt tribute, stating:
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the loss of Chethan Babu, a cherished member of our BMS & BHS community. Fellowship Bible Church will host a prayer night in his memory.
Dr. Harlin and Mr. Keidel have distributed email communications containing additional details and support resources for our students and families.
Our deepest sympathies go out to the Babu family during this difficult period.
Chetan Babu is survived by his loving parents, Ashok and Nicole, as well as extended family members.
During this painful time, his parents have requested privacy as they mourn the unimaginable loss of their young son.
Though his life was abruptly ended, Chethan's early contributions to sports will remain memorable.
