Raylin Harrison was a Jones High School footballer who lost his life at the age of 16. He was shot and killed in Orange County on Sunday.

He was a member of the class of 2027 and played wide receiver for the Florida Bombers.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that claimed the life of a 16-year-old, Raylin Harrison, on Sunday night.

After reports of gunfire, deputies responded to the 1500 block of 26th Street around 9 p.m. and found a teen who had been shot. He was taken to a hospital but later died.

The sheriff’s office stated the investigation is ongoing, and no further details about the circumstances of the shooting have been released.

Raylin’s tragic incident marks the fourth shooting involving a teenager in Central Florida since December 24. It raised concerns about youth violence in the community.

Authorities are asking anyone with information to come forward.

Raylin Harrison was the son of Ray Harrison and Nivea Lampkingir. His parents raised him in a close-knit family alongside his sister, Rayla, in Orlando, Florida.

He was a beloved son, brother, and friend who passed away, leaving a legacy of passion, boldness, and faith.

Raylin carried a spirit of determination and joy from his earliest days.

His mother, Nivea Lampkingir, prayed for a son who could do backflips. He joyfully fulfilled the wish and embodied a physical grace and fearlessness that would come to define him.

Under his mother’s guidance, he learned the value of financial independence and accompanied her to work, where he took pride in earning his own way.

Raylin’s greatest passion was football.

On the field, he played with a rare combination of fire and focus. Coaches and teammates often remarked that he “ran his routes like his hair was on fire, but under control.”

He played with a heart that inspired everyone around him with an ability to contort his body through tight coverage and make impossible, contested catches.

Off the field, Raylin was cherished for his unwavering loyalty, his vibrant energy, and the warmth he brought into every room. His family takes comfort in knowing that his spirited presence touched countless lives.

In accordance with his father Ray’s wishes, a service to celebrate Raylin’s life will be held this Wednesday at their family church.

He invites all friends, family, and those whose lives were touched by his son to join together in fellowship and remembrance.

Raylin is survived by his father, Ray Harrison; his mother, Nivea Lampkingir; his sister, Rayla; and a community of loved ones who will forever hold his memory close.

His time was brief, but his impact was profound. He lived his life with intensity, love, and unwavering faith.
